2019 - 2020 | Perenco - Guatemala
I planned and scheduled technical inspection activities for processes and automation. I evaluated the maintenance program for electrical and instrumentation equipment in the main oil pipeline in Guatemala. This included power generator systems, motor coordination and protection, storage tank controls, pump and compression, and cathodic protection systems. I oversaw the execution of these programs, identified non-conformities, and developed plans for future improvements to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
2016 - 2018 | Geoandina, Colombia
I installed and commissioned instruments and controls in two hydroelectric dams to manage gates, pumping systems, and valves, as well as to monitor geotechnical variables, structural displacements, water levels, and infiltrations. I configured communication with SCADA systems and programmed their interfaces. Additionally, I supervised and coordinated the activities of technicians responsible for maintaining electrical and monitoring systems. I also designed solar panel systems to power remote instrumentation and data loggers.

I provided comprehensive instruction in industrial instrumentation for surface oil and gas handling, focusing on practical applications and hands-on learning. I guided students in mastering essential skills such as instrument calibration, troubleshooting techniques, PLC programming, motor controllers, and automation systems. Additionally, I emphasized the importance of adherence to safety protocols and effective control strategies. My goal was to equip technologists with the technical knowledge and expertise needed to excel in electrical and instrumentation roles and contribute effectively to the oil and gas industry.
2012 - 2014 | Confipetrol, Colombia
I designed conceptual and basic engineering plans, including P&IDs and process tuning standards, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to optimize oil transportation. I prepared budgets, evaluated suppliers, and selected instrumentation and communication devices while participating in various types of operational risk analyses during projects. Additionally, I supervised, coordinated, and scheduled the activities of technicians responsible for inspections of pipe coatings, electrical maintenance of cathodic protection systems, and electrical and instrumentation maintenance at oil production stations, wells, and pipelines. I installed numerous new process instruments and transmitters, integrating them with SCADA systems, and programmed several PLCs for new process controls according to process engineers' specifications. I configured and programmed DCS, and tuned processes for product delivery.
2010 - 2012 | Tecnología Total, Colombia
I designed electrical rectifiers for cathodic protection systems according to client specifications and oversaw projects related to the satellite monitoring of cathodic protection for several oil and gas pipeline transportation systems. I coordinated inspections for coating status of pipelines using electrical cycling devices, Trimble localization systems, and ArcGIS. I ensured accurate information and presented detailed reports to oil and gas transportation companies regarding monitoring and inspection activities.
